Server downtime
Overview
Flinn is a cloud-hosted platform. If our servers are unavailable — due to a hosting incident, scheduled maintenance or an unexpected outage — users may be unable to log in or run searches for the duration of the disruption.
Hazardous situation: Users cannot access the software, halting critical regulatory activities.
How we mitigate server downtime- Resilient infrastructure. Flinn's hosting setup is designed to minimise unplanned outages and to recover quickly when they happen.
- Active monitoring and support. Our team actively monitors platform availability. If you cannot reach Flinn at all, follow the steps in I cannot access Flinn anymore, what should I do?.
- Display issues vs outages. Not every display problem is a server outage — see Flinn interface seems not to be displayed properly, what shall I do? for the basic checks to perform first.
- Communication channels. During an outage, we communicate via in-app banners and the support chat — see What is the web chat?. Critical incidents are also handled through How can I report a problem?.
When the platform comes back, all data and ongoing work are preserved: nothing is lost as a result of an outage.
