Welcome to the next chapter of innovation with the Flinn Software Version 1.4.0 release! This release is bringing unique technical innovations, numerous UX improvements and foundational feature upgrades. Among the highlights are our lighthouse innovations: the Statistics Feature for unparalleled data insights, and the Search Overlap Detection for efficiency support. We've also completed technical milestones, making OCR technology available for all PDFs Databases and upgrading our highly requested AI feature, Similarity Detection, now supporting three databases and leaving the BETA stage. Core features released for Version 1.4.0

1. The Statistics visualization feature for MAUDE We are excited to launch the Statistics functionality, designed to provide you with data insights to empower benchmarking, group evaluations, and strategic decision-making You can now enable the statistics feature to effortlessly group results according to data elements like Manufacturers, Product Type, or Device Problems. Dive into each group through subgroups, and document your insights by leaving evaluation notes. This feature is released in a BETA version, since the export and group appraisal (evaluation) are not yet implemented. Nonetheless, we believe the current version will already deliver a lot of value to you, and we are looking forward to getting your feedback on this first version.

2. OCR Technology for All PDF Databases Flinn 1.4.0 now makes OCR technology available for all PDF databases. This powerful technical addition enhances document processing, ensuring a quality and compliance increase for all BfArM, SwissMedic and MHRA searches results. This ensures, that even low-quality PDF reports, with little metadata, will be queried in your searches when meaningful.

3. Flinn Assistant - Similarity Detection, version 1 Exciting news! The Flinn Assistant has successfully transitioned from its BETA phase to its robust version 1 to deliver more AI support for users. With MHRA added to the pool of considered sources, you now have three sources contributing to a total of six relationships covered, providing a more comprehensive context for known reports. If any strong similarity relation is detected from different reports, you will automatically get informed through the Flinn Assistant to take the most coherent appraisal decision.

    

4. Flinn Assistant - Search Overlaps version 1 In addition to similarity detection, this version introduces the convenient Search Overlaps feature. The Flinn Assistant is now able to identify reports you have already evaluated in another searches and highlights to you this key information. This streamlined approach enhances efficiency but supports you to ensure the coherence of your evaluation decisions across searches.

5. Query Builder, new fields-specific operators In this latest Flinn update, you can now tailor your searches with additional operators options in the Query Builder. These operators allow you to specifically target the manufacturer field and the report source code field for any MAUDE report. You can now strictly frame your search to specific manufactures names, or, for selected report sources such as User Facility report or Distributor report.

   

6. Including the latest MAUDE data upgrade Part of our services, we monitor for you the evolution of MAUDE databases to always provide the most up-to-date data. The recent MAUDE upgrade includes valuable information in the patient treatment and patient outcome fields. This is already mirrored on Flinn’s reports with this version. Your data accessibility is our priority, and we continue to refine our processes to keep you at the forefront of meaningful information.

   

7. Additional flexible search label With this version, you get access to the new flexible search labeling system. In addition to the current Devices and Group of Devices labeling options, you can now configure the flexible third label in the settings. Useful examples could be the use of this labeling for risk class categorization or search statuses organization. This enhances the search traceability and documentation within Flinn.

8. Usability Improvements In response to your feedback, we have dedicated efforts to enhance various aspects of the software experience, ensuring seamless usability. Notable improvements include enhanced formatting of data fields in exported documentation, increased character limits for the Query Builder and Query notes, improved navigation aesthetics with a focus on breadcrumbs color, and, a faster navigation experience! These collective updates aim to elevate the overall user experience, reaffirming Flinn's commitment to maintaining a cutting-edge UX standard.
