Inaccurate translation

Overview

Regulations and guidances available through Flinn may be displayed with machine translation. An inaccurate translation could lead to incorrect regulatory decisions and documentation.

Hazardous situation: Incorrect regulatory decisions are made on the basis of an inaccurate translation.

How we mitigate inaccurate translation

Original always shown. Regulatory documents are always displayed alongside their original source text, and machine-translated content is explicitly labelled as AI-generated translation, so users can verify the accuracy of critical passages before acting on them.
QA validation. AI-generated translations in approved languages are validated by QA before deployment.
User verification. Users are advised to verify translated content against the original source text and are informed which languages are approved; see the General Guidance section.

Automated translation, combined with the parallel display of the original source text and clear AI-generated labelling, outweighs the residual risk of an inaccurate translation.
