Feature misuse

Overview

Flinn offers advanced features that support the analysis of regulatory data. If a user applies such a feature in a way it was not intended, it can produce misleading analysis results and, in turn, inaccurate regulatory decisions.

How we mitigate feature misuse

Knowledgeable, trained users. Flinn's users are regulatory professionals with relevant domain expertise, and every customer receives onboarding training on how each feature is intended to be used and on its limitations. Users have full access to all features and are well equipped to use them correctly and avoid mistakes. No design can make a feature impossible to misuse, so the risk is addressed through user competence and support rather than by restricting access.
User confirmation. The final decision on a feature's output is always confirmed by the user before it is relied upon in regulatory decisions.
Support whenever needed. If users need additional information or are unsure how to use a feature, they can contact their Customer Success Manager or Flinn support at any time; see Contact. If a feature behaves unexpectedly, Report a problem or a bug.

Because users are knowledgeable and trained, can reach us whenever they are unsure, and confirm every feature output before acting on it, the benefit of these features outweighs the residual risk of misuse.
