📑 Export Search & Results

Let's explore together your literature documentation options.

Welcome to the Literature Export presentation page, where you will find useful information and best practices regarding the export feature.

How to export my results

To begin, navigate to a Search with a Results list that includes at least one result. Next, click on the Export button located in the dropdown menu in the top right corner of the table. This will open the Export panel.

From the export panel, you have three options:

Export as: This opens a secondary side panel where you can choose between three export file formats (described below)

Downloads: This opens a secondary side panel with a list of all export files you have generated since your last search execution

PRISMA: This downloads a PRISMA image file representing the literature screening and selection process.

When selecting "Export as", you can trigger 3 different types of export:

All results (.xlsx): the Excel export

All results (.RIS): A RIS file to upload to your citation management tool

Included full text (.zip): ZIP file with all your included PDFs


All results: the Excel export

The Excel file you will obtain contains the following data:

1st tab: Report Summary - The summary of your literature activity

  1. Name of the search
  2. The version of Flinn for the export
  3. Email of the person who exported the search
  4. Last execution date and time of the search
  5. Name of the Devices and Groups of Devices for this search
  6. the query, in the elastic search format
  7. the date frame of the query
  8. the sources selected for the query
  9. the results summary table with:
    1. the number of total papers queried
    2. the number of total papers manually added
      1. uploaded papers + recommended papers that have been evaluated
    3. the number of total papers evaluated
    4. the number of total papers not appraised
    5. the number of total papers included
    6. Total number of possibly included papers
    7. the number of total papers excluded
  10. The exclusion criteria table with:
    1. the number of total papers excluded per criteria
  11. The inclusion criteria table with:
    1. the number of total papers included per criteria
  12. A break-down per Source of the inclusion and exclusion activities
2nd tab: All Papers - Screening

  1. a table with the results:
    1. for each result:
      1. Unique Flinn ID
      2. DOI
      3. Source
      4. Result Type
        1. Query
          1. All results from your query
        2. Upload
          1. All results you manually uploaded
        3. Recommender
          1. All results from the recommendation tab that you evaluated
      1. Authors
      2. Title
      3. Article Type
      4. Journal Name
      5. Abstract text
      6. MeSH terms
      7. Evaluation results
      8. Evaluation reasons
      9. Evaluation note (if written)

3rd tab+: Appraisal templates

Starting at the 3rd tab, you can find the documentation for your appraisal process. Every appraisal template in your search (MEDDEV and custom templates), will be documented with an individual tab, containing all key data of literature papers + the appraisal answers.

4th tab+: Data extraction documentation

Starting after the appraisal tabs, a table with all data from the AI-assisted data extraction templates. For each result:

  1. All key data of literature papers
  2. All your data analysis data points

RIS file: A RIS file to upload in your citation management tool

Export your included literature papers as a RIS format, compatible with any citation management tool, including EndNote, Citavi, Mendeley, and Zotero. This integration allows for easy upload of work from Flinn, ensuring comprehensive and compliant documentation.

 

 

PDF file: ZIP file with all your included PDFs

The PDF file export is designed for occasional use and will trigger the creation of a file with all your included PDFs (Open Access and manually added). You will, within 48 hours, receive the file as a ZIP folder, via email.
