Flinn's AI takes the heavy lifting out of abstract screening — it pre-sorts your results, surfaces the key facts you need to make a decision, and lets you screen far faster while staying in control of every call.

🔄 Automatic screening rules

When you run a search, Flinn automatically screens your results against a set of predefined rules and flags the papers that aren't likely to be relevant — so you can clear out the obvious exclusions in a few clicks instead of reading every abstract.

 

Each flagged paper comes with a short AI explanation (a short rationale or an exact quote from the text) so you can see why it was flagged. You then decide Keep or Exclude for each one — nothing is excluded without your confirmation.

Beyond the automatic rules, you can create your own AI screening rules using plain-language exclusion prompts.

  • Rules can take metadata into account — publication date, title, authors, and data source-specific fields — not just the abstract.
